Live Your Dreams

Kim Harding Painting a Horse

This is my debut blog and I have no clue where to start, but here goes. I will try to make these blogs interesting while I finally get those vignettes out of my brain. For those who know me I was (and still am to some extent) a workaholic. I had a long and successful career with a wonderful company where I made life-long friends. But I knew there was something else for me. While working, I took art classes and painted as often as I could. For years I dreamed of “retirement” so I can paint full-time and hopefully start a new career as an artist. I even made a bracelet that says “Live Your Dreams” that I wear all the time to keep reminding me to do what it takes to reach that dream.

Well, in April I took the leap (sort of) and semi-retired. It’s important to explain that I tried to retire but they wouldn’t let me! So, I still work 20 hours a week and paint the rest of the time. And, I am loving it! The only problem I have is figuring out that I don’t have to be “doing” something all the time. After 2 months I am finally starting to relax and not feel guilty when I take down time.

I am finally starting to Live My Dream. Here I am at my easel.
